A story from Between Restless Jews and Weary Arabs

Shortsighted hubris

Ahead of his March 2023 visit to Rome, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu was asked what lessons he had drawn from studying Jewish and Roman history. He said: "History is impartial and unforgiving. It doesn't favour the virtuous or the morally superior. It favours the strong." In another interview in 2025, he said, "The strong could be good or evil. It does not matter. The strong win."

Those are the words of arrogant people who have not yet paid a hefty price for their constant aggression and humiliation of others.
